I manged to dig up a few dollars in change today cleaning out old purses and duffel bags. That should be enough for me to add a roll of dimes and one of pennies to my monthly savings jar. I came up just short for both yesterday, but did get one roll of pennies added. I’ve got a few bucks in quarters as well, which I need to trade for dollar bills. (For those who didn’t see the original post at my personal blog, I put dollar bills from my household pocket in my savings jar and use the quarters for laundry.)
I also got a $4 check from my insurance company this week. I was late on my final payment because I’d forgotten I hadn’t paid all of it back in the fall, and I added a few extra dollars for the late fee. Apparently they were nice and didn’t charge me one. So that’s another small piece for the savings jar.
I’m also waiting on $41 from the state for my tax refund.
A couple dollars here, a couple dollars there… I don’t know if I’ll get $100 by the end of May to make another extra credit card payment, but I should have at least $75. And every little bit helps.
